NZ Institute of Sport – 2022 programmes available

NZIS are on the hunt for passionate students to join our team at NZIS for 2022!

If you have any eager fitness and sport-orientated students who have a drive for development in the industry, then here’s what we can offer them!
A diverse range of programs enables students to gain not only an academic outlook on the industry but being introduced to a highly engaging practical component to all our programs. This gives them an extensive range of knowledge to coincide with hands-on skills that ensure they’re readily available for industry.
We have extremely competent and knowledgeable staff who provide a huge range of support for all students. They have a strong desire to assist in helping them succeed and want to bring out the confidence in them to have a strong belief that they can set their minds on anything.
We have recently acquired a careers advisor (Zusje Liefting-Hooker) who is working closely with our students and industry to ensure our students have the best possible outcomes awaiting them post-study. We can assure you that we are emplacing several strategies to give endless opportunities to all our students.
I am attaching information (read here) on several programs that will give you an insight as to what is involved academically. If you have any students of interest or anyone you are aware of that this would be the perfect fit for then please let me know.
Entry criteria for these programs are as follows:
Foundation Skills in Sport Level 2 (Youth Guarantee) No formal qualification required.
Applicants must be 16.
All applicants must attend an interview.
Sport, Recreation and Exercise Level 3 (Youth Guarantee) Applicants must hold a NZQA Level 2 or equivalent.
Applicants must be 16.
All applicants must attend an interview.
Study & Career Preparation Level 4 All applicants should be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Have attained a minimum of 40 credits at NCEA Level 2 or equivalent.
All applicants must attend an interview.
Diploma in Sport, Recreation & Exercise Level 5 Either hold an NCEA Level 3 or a Level 3 tertiary qualification in a relevant field or related qualification at Level 4 or have equivalent skills and experience.
All applicants must attend an interview.

These are fantastic programs for your students to fully immerse themselves in a high-energy environment and to develop into their chosen career.
If they are wanting a direction in this industry but are still unsure what that looks like these programs offer multi-sector which enables them to learn all the different aspects to the industry to assist them in establishing the interest that resonates with them the most.
