Need volunteer ideas for your SVA Service Award?

November 4, 2021

It’s not too late to clock in some hours before the end of year!

Wanting to do some more mahi for the SVA Service Award? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered for ideas and opportunities.

Community Clean Up – Go for a stroll around your neighbourhood and do a street clean up. A clean community is a happy community. Rally your household together for a day out!

Help Out Your Neighbours – Why not drop off a note to your elderly neighbours to see if they need a hand with anything. You could offer what socially-distanced tasks you’re happy to do like gardening, fence painting, shopping or walking dogs.

Remember to stay COVID-safe and follow the rules and guidelines for your COVID alert level.

Christchurch Opportunities

Vaccine Clinic Volunteers

Christchurch vaccination centres urgently need volunteers to assist with:

  • Basic admin tasks
  • Coordinating traffic
  • Supporting healthcare professionals in their work

If this sounds like something you’d be keen to do, you can book your shifts online through the button below.

Vaccine Clinic Volunteering Promotion

This weekend, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th November, we are looking for volunteers to be stationed outside of New World Fendalton, Ilam and St Martins to help us recruit new vaccine clinic helpers.

The times and hours are flexible and so if you are able to help at any of these locations, flick Jeremy an email at coordination@sva.org.nz.

Each time you finish volunteering, remember to keep track of your hours and log them through the app. You have until November 20th to have your volunteer hours up to date and included in your 2021 Summary of Service.

We know this year hasn’t been easy and we are proud of you all for showing up and helping others when you were needed.

Ngā mihi nui,
Sammy J and the SVA Team
