Volunteering — Dementia Appeal, 19/20 Nov

Posted on October 19, 2021

Still need to complete your service hours this year?

Want to do something for others?

Perhaps you know someone in your family network who has been impacted by dementia…

Give some hours of your time to help raise funds for important research into the causes of and treatment for this widespread and devastating illness.

Organisation:  Dementia Canterbury

Location:         various around Christchurch and Wider Canterbury region

Role:               Annual Appeal Collecting

Dates:             Friday 19 November and Saturday 20 November

Times:             Flexible – find a shift/day that suits your schedule

Working as a group, you will be contributing to Dementia Canterbury’s annual appeal which is one of the most important fundraisers in their calendar. If you have a group, one person will be the Team Leader overseeing the smooth running of the day, picking up collection buckets at the beginning of the day and returning at the end of the day.  The rest of your group will be allocated two-hour timeslots, in pairs, to engage with the public and collect.  Dementia Canterbury team will be supporting you!  A typical day would be 10am to 5pm … get a group together and make a difference in your community.
